Hand Stamped Sentiments #108

I seem to have a penchant for reading really, really sad books.  I just finished Those Who Save Us this morning (by Jenna Blum), and it certainly fell under this genre.  It jumps back and forth between a woman forced to endure WWII in Germany, and her daughter in the present.  Very well written.  Very sad.  Worth reading.  However, after finishing it I needed something to cheer me up.

I surfed around for a while and then came to the Hand Stamped Sentiments page.  Theirs is a colour challenge this week featuring Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake.  Sounds good to me!  I played around for a bit and ended up making a nice little masculine card.  I never seem to have a man card on hand when I need one, so this should do quite nicely.

  1. Love how you used Circle Circus, I always forget to use that set! Your sweet little owl is a hoot and he's turned those fun colors into a wonderful man card. Thanks for playing along this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments!

  3. First of all, I loved that book! I love all WWII book and it was sad but a good story. I'm reading another one much like it right now called The Baker's Daughter. So far I like it! And this card is cute and cheery! I love that you used the owl with it, he (or she) fits perfect! Fun background too! Thanks for playing at HSS!

  5. Cool background stamping and great use of the color combo. I also like how you used different embossing folders for each layer. Thanks for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments. P.S. I hope you've found a way to cheer up after reading the sad book. :) Maybe some stamping perhaps?
