Dynamic Duos #12

I LOVE Poppy Parade.  I almost cried this year when it left the colour circuit.  Oh well.  I'm still hanging on to my supplies in case they ever bring it back (which I'm desperately hoping they will do).  Anywho, the challenge at Dynamic Duos this week is black and Poppy Parade, with a side of punches, if you please.

I must say that I haven't really used the Blossom Builder punch a whole lot.  I've had it forever, but it just isn't one of my go-to punches.  However, I've been seeing a bunch of theses decadent flowers lately so I pulled it out today to give it a shot.  It was a little time consuming, but well worth the effort.  I think I might bring a stack of paper in next time I'm watching a movie and make a few more.

The lovely flourish in the background is from Everything Eleanor.  I'm a lover of everything flourish (I even have a tattoo of a butterfly, the wing pattern of which is a bunch of flourishes).  They are simple yet elegant, and match many different styles of images.  Rather than just stamping the background like this, which would have been lovely too, I decided to use the delft tile technique.  Just adds another little extra.

Well, back to homework for the day.  Reading about Freud's psychoanalytic theory gets a little dry after five hours of it....

  1. I haven't used that punch yet and I've had it for months! Your gorgeous flower may make me blow the dust off it. Thanks so much for the absolutely gorgeous inspiration and for playing along at Dynamic Duos.

    1. You should absolutely blow the dust off! I think it would make for really lovely wedding cards too. I'm going to try and get out there today again and embosss some vanilla before punching to see how that looks.

      Have a great day!

  3. Gorgeous! I don't use that punch either - but I LOVE what you have done with it. The flower is gorgeous enough but that creative background really makes it pop. So glad to see you at Dynamic Duos!

  6. This is so delicious, Crystal! I, too, am guilty of not building blossoms and love seeing them, especially your decadent one ... I can't pin it, but I can bookmark it in my book of faves ~ so thank you!
