Mojo Monday 231

What's this?!  A card before work?!  How unusual!  I am an early-riser.  Even when I don't have to be.  So even though I don't have to be at work until almost 9:00, I was still up at 6:00.  That left me time to make a card!  I never have time during the week to play with Mojo Monday while it's still current, so I was VERY excited this morning when I have the chance.

SAB is coming to an end this month so I am trying to use up the paper while it's still current, and this layout was perfect for showcasing all of the coordinating patterns.  I'm also in love with rolled roses right now, so I got two birds with one stone on this one.

A La Card Monkey Guest!

For the past few weeks I've been playing with the sketches from the girls over at A La Card Monkey.  Imagine my delight when I opened my email to find an invitation to be a guest designer for one of their challenges!  I squealed with pleasure and immediately told my husband.  He probably couldn't have cared less, but he pretended to be excited.  I was left unsatisfied, so I called my best friend who reacted exactly how I hoped.  She squealed too.  Much better.

I bought the Curly Label punch for myself quite a while back, but it hadn't yet found its way onto any of my cards.  Perhaps this is because I love my Decorative Label punch so much, so when I saw it on the sketch I had the perfect opportunity to pull it out.

I wanted to showcase the Sale-a-bration paper Everyday Enchantment and this layout let me use a couple of the designs.  I was also able to slip in the large image from Fresh Vintage (it's in the background, under the sentiment).  The sentiment was just a little too stark up against the Very Vanilla layered on Poppy Parade, so I used Pool Party and stamped the image off once to make it a little less bright.

Sale-a-bration continues through until March 24th.  This is the perfect time to host a party or place an order to get free goodies!  Please contact me to set up a date if you're interested.

Mixed Bunch

I have a couple of workshops this weekend and pulled out Mixed Bunch to play with.  This set is great for versatility.  I wanted to showcase how you don't need a hundred sets to make a good variety of cards, and this certainly did the trick.

This one is great for showing off what you can do with different textures.  One of the ladies "messed up" (her words, not mine) and used the Perfect Polka Dots folder on the base layer and the Vintage Wall Paper on the top layer.  I actually like how hers turned out better than mine! :)

This next one's a little more striking with the bold colours.  I think this one would work just as well for a wedding/anniversary card too.

I originally wanted to make this one with Bashful Blue, but I was out of that so I used Pool Party instead.  Turns out Poppy Parade and Pool Party make me happy when they're together.  This card is pure fun and sure to put a smile on the receiver's face.

Don't forget that Sale-a-bration is in full swing!  For every $60 order you place you get to choose an item from the SAB catty for FREEEEEEEEEE!!!!  I'll also be entering customer's names in a draw with each order, and pull a winner on the last day of each month of SAB. Prizes include Stampin Write marker, ribbon shares, DSP shares, and even NEW STAMPS!  Contact me today to place your order, or head on over to my online store.

Sale-a-bration!

On January 24th Sale-a-bration starts again!  I love this event.  For each $60 order you place, you get to choose a free item.  These aren't junky no-one-wants-them-so-let's-give-them-away items either.  There are a few items from the IB&C (buttons, brads, stamps, paper, etc.) and as always, there are a couple of amazing items exclusively for SAB.  The DSP you see here is called Everyday Enchantment, and is part of SAB.  See those cute little brads over on the corner?  They're included in a bundle with some gorgeous organdy ribbon.

The sentiment shown on this card is from the new mini.  For the cling mount set the cost is $33.95.  Those amazing shapes under it?  Made in flash with the new Framelits Die.  For a set of 6 of these coordinating dies you pay only $32.95.  Order these 2 items and choose one of the SAB items for FREE!  Who doesn't love free stuff?!

I'll post a link to the SAB catalogue as soon as it goes live!  As an extra thank you from me each month during SAB, customers that place an order through me will have their name put in a draw for some great prizes including paper shares from current DSPs, coordinating ribbon shares for Attic Boutique and Twitterpated, free stamp sets, and more!  Each $60 order (pre tax & shipping) gets you one entry.  The draws will be held on the last day of each month and posted the following morning.  Shopping in my online store?  You're in the draw too!  Until then, look through your IB&C and the new mini and make yourself a wish list!

Birthday Binge

This week I've been on a bit of a binge - a birthday card binge.  I decided that I needed to make a whole whack of b-day cards, saw my Ice Cream Parlour SAB paper, and stamped my heart out.  Here's what happened next...

Sale-a-Bration is Coming to an End

 Stamps:  Elizabeth
Paper:  Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Cajun Craze, Not Quite Navy
Extras:  Very Vanilla ribbon, Tulips frame

With just over a week left in SAB, I wanted to remind everyone what a great promotion it is.  For every $60 order you will receive a free stamp set of your choice from the SAB catalogue.  Both of these cards are made with stamp sets you can get for free during SAB.

If you've ever considered joining Stampin' Up, this is the time to do it.  And if you just want to get the great deal on the starter kit and the discount of products without doing anything else, even better.  During SAB, you get the kit for $182 (all in, including tax & shipping).  In addition to all the amazing stuff that comes in the kit, you also get to choose a punch (worth $24) and a Simply Set kit (worth $28).  The Colour Coach also comes with your SAB starter kit.  It's a pretty great little do-dad to have when picking out colours to go together.  That's what I used when picking my combos for these cards.  I also throw it in my purse when I head out craft shopping to see what I've got to work with at home.  Yes, I am that person.

To sign up for the starter kit click here to go to my online Stampin' Up store.  If you're not sure what products you'd get the most use of, call or email me and I can help you figure it out.

Happy Sale-a-brating!

Owls in the Family

Tomorrow is the last day before spring break (yay!) so I've been baking black forest cupcakes for my students all night.  In between batches I wanted to make something, but not a card.  Here's what I came up with.  I originally bought these craft sticks to make sets of the Sticks game out of, but I have a whole bunch left over and I haven't known what to do with them.  Well, problem solved.  I love making bookmarks with leftover scraps, but they're a little boring for kids.  I thought this was a pretty cool option.  Going to send some home for a friend's kidlets tomorrow.  I think I'll stamp their initials on the bottom for the finishing touch.

Paper:  Daffodil Delight (119683), Melon Mambo (115320), Pacific Point (111350), Rich Razzleberry (115316), Pear Pizazz (119795)
Paper:  Ice Cream Parlor (free during Sale-a-bration)
Extras:  Owl Punch (118074)

Friend to Friend

The {friend to friend} sentiment is probably the most well-used of my stamps from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  It works for pretty much anything.  I leave my cards blank inside, and this sentiment leaves the door wide open for whatever use you need.

My best friend loves owls, so I am going to send this down to her.  We both love browns and greens together, so it seemed like a natural combination with this sweet little owl.

One of the free sets during Sale-a-bration includes an owl stamp that fits this punch perfectly.  New demonstrators that join Stampin' Up during SAB get to choose a free punch as one of the extras, and this could be the punch that you choose.  Hobby stampers - remember, you can join Stampin' Up just to take advantage of the great deal ($187 for over $350 worth of product and supplies during SAB).  There's absolutely no obligation to sell even one stamp set if you join.  Starter kits are completely customizable to get you exactly what you want.  Check out the details on my page (test drive SU!) or contact me for more info.  I can help you figure out what sets you'd get the most mileage out of.  SAB ends on March 31, so take advantage of this deal while you can!

Stamps:  Teen Tiny Wishes (115370)
Paper:  Pear Pizazz (119795), Crumb Cake (120963), Early Espresso (119686), First Edition (121878)

Free Goodies

Sale-a-bration comes to an end this month, so take a look through the catalogue and see what items you need.  Every $60 of product earns you a free set of stamps. Click the SAB link on the top right of the page to browse the flyer.

Here are a couple of cards that I've made using SAB items.

Punch Bunch

This is a 4 X 4 card that took me about 5 minutes to make.  It's pretty simple, but I used some Dazzling Diamonds to jazz it up a little.  The Ice Cream Parlor DSP makes it really funky.  I love this little owl - he's super cute.  I used the owl punch to make him stand out a little and then added some dimensionals for a little more.  These stamps are designed to fit with SU! punches for the perfect result every time.
I love making these little gift holders.  I've done this in a few workshops and everyone really enjoys making them.  One of the ladies doubled up on her ribbon and I loved it so much I had to do one like it.

Bliss

The Bliss set fits in perfectly with many of Stampin' Up's regular products, but obviously works really well on it's own as well.  The large flourish makes beautiful background paper if you haven't got any on hand, or if you're looking for a simple, yet elegant effect.

I really love this set.

Test Drive Stampin' Up

If you have a passion for paper crafts, Stampin' Up is definitely for you.  As a demonstrator you introduce people to passion, create beautiful projects, and earn free products!  Who doesn't love free stuff?  If you think that becoming a demonstrator might be something that you're interested in, joining during Sale-a-bration is the perfect time.  Not only do you get an additional 15% off the already amazingly priced started kit, ($187 for over $375 worth of product) but you also get $60 worth of free products - including a punch of your choice!  Contact me if you'd like more information.

Not sure you want to commit to becoming a demonstrator?  That's okay too, it's not for everyone.  SAB is the perfect time to test it out.  You get the same amazing deal on the starter kit (plus extra free goodies like a punch of your choice and a colour coach), but there is no obligation for you to ever sell anything, or even buy anything else along the way.  Many people join during SAB just to get the great deal and the free products.

If either of these options seems like something you might be interested in, send me an email (mrslangton@shaw.ca) and I can give you the low down on everything, or check our my Stampin' Up! website.  Test Drive Stampin' Up!

Happy Monday!
