Hand Stamped Sentiments #124

Hello Saturday!  I have absolutely nothing that needs to get done today, so I stayed up late last night playing in my room.  I meant to try out some more of my new goodies, but I saw this sketch on Hand Stamped Semtiments and had an idea for it.

I've done many quilting cards before, and love the extra dimension the embossing gives.  Lately I've been on a square card kick (but I hate that I can only get one card out of a regular sized piece of cardstock).  Unfortunately, the biggest square card the folders can accommodate is 4.25".  So, I used the textures impressions plates (they've retired now - sorry!) to get my quilting done for this one.

Other than size, the difference between the TI plates and the embossing folders is that the EF offer a much deeper, crisper texture.  I really prefer the EF, but I wanted to make a nice big card, so that wasn't an option.  As you can tell from the picture, the embossing is quite subtle, but it shows much more in person.  Overall I'm still really happy with the card.  The colours are sure to brighten someone's day!

  1. Very Pretty!!! Love the bright and cheerful color combo!!! Perfect texture!!! Love the accent of the black- great touch!!! Thanks for playing along with Hand Stamped Sentiments, Diane

  2. Oh WOW!!! Such a pretty card! The bright colors are a beautiful pop against the white background and I love the silhouetted look of the black butterflies!! I think I'm going to have to case this one! Btw, if you enjoy your square cards, just keep some 12x12 handy and then you can get two per sheet! Thanks for playing at HSS this week!

  3. I love this card. The clean and simple design, with the bright colors and the black butterflies. CLASSIC. Thanks for playing with us at HSS.

  4. Very pretty! Love the circle image as a quilt pattern. My favorite are the butterflies! Thanks for playing with us this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments!

    1. Wow! Thank you for your comments ladies! I don't usually use the brights collection very often, but maybe I'll do so a little more. Happy stamping!

  5. This is gorgeous! So pretty, love the pops of colors and the EF. Thank you for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

  6. Oh, how I love circles. And color. And embossing. And repetition on a card. Fab-you-lous :D I'm so loving your card. Thanks for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments! Erika
